Shortcut keys (access keys)

To browse the Eni Portal it is possible to use a series of access keys (or hotkeys ), to directly access the chapters and parts of the pages with the keyboard. Some tools such as language change, content search within the site and printing can also be activated.

How to take advantage of hotkeys:

Instructions for changing the font and background colors of a web page with Internet Explorer

To set the fonts and colors to always be used for web pages :

Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu of Internet Explorer
In the General tab, choose the Accessibility button
Change the settings as desired

To change the colors of web pages:

Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu of Internet Explorer
On the General tab, click Colors
Change the settings as desired.

To change the text size of a web page :

Choose Text Size from the View menu
Choose the desired size

To view the text of a web page with a different font:

Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu of Internet Explorer
On the General tab, click Characters
Click on the desired fonts in the Web page fonts and Normal text only fonts lists

Keyboard access with Internet Explorer.

In Internet Explorer, you can browse the web using the keyboard.

Simply press TAB and Shift + TAB to move between the various elements of the screen, for example:

Text or image links

Critical areas in image maps

Address bar

Menu bar

Link bar

Frame

Customize the toolbar with Internet Explorer.

You can customize the toolbar by adding or removing buttons, using large or small icons and showing or hiding the label text.

Click Toolbars in the View menu and choose Customize.

In case of visual impairment, you can add the Size button to be able to quickly change the font size.

If you use a screen reader, we recommend that you select Small icons in the Icon options list and No text labels in the Text options list to increase screen space for web content

Advanced options for Internet Explorer accessibility.

Choose Opzioni Internet from the Tools menu of Internet Explorer, then click on the Advanced tab
Change the following settings as desired:
set the system cursor with the activation / selection changes
If you use a screen reader utility, we recommend that you select this check box. Some utilities for reading or enlarging the screen use the system slider to determine the area of the screen to be read or enlarged.
Always expand alternative text for images.
Select this check box if you prefer to display alternative descriptive text (text with ALT tag) instead of displaying actual images.
In this case, the Show images checkbox is deselected. In this way, the text will not be truncated even if the space it occupies is greater than the image area.
Use continuous scrolling and Enable page transitions.
If you use a utility to magnify or read the screen, it is a good idea to deselect these check boxes.
If you use a speech recognition program, recognition errors may occur during continuous scrolling and transitions. In this case, it is advisable to deselect these checkboxes.
Show images, perform animations and play video.
In case of vision impairment, you can deselect these checkboxes to improve vision. If you are disturbed by the effects of intermittence produced by the screen, it is advisable to deselect these checkboxes.
Play sounds
In the presence of learning disabilities, clear this checkbox to avoid distractions. For blind users, it is recommended that you clear this check box or download specific sounds to avoid interference with reading the text aloud from the screen reader.
Print colors and images in the background.
In case of visual impairment, you can deselect this check box to improve the readability of printed texts.

Main keyboard commands of Internet Explorer.

You can use keyboard shortcuts to view and browse web pages, preview pages and then print them, use the address bar, work with Favorites, and make changes.

The following are the main keyboard commands for Internet Explorer:

Instructions for changing the font and background colors of a web page with Mozilla Firefox 1.x and later.

Change the default fonts in Mozilla Firefox.

Normally, web pages are displayed in the browser's default font , or in a font chosen by the author of the page.

In Mozilla Firefox the user is given the possibility to change the default fonts, with the following procedure:

Open the Tools menu and choose Options (on Mac OS open the Firefox menu and choose Preferences);
Open the Content category;
Choose the preferred settings, also through the "Advanced" button if you are an expert user.

Many Web page authors directly choose the font and size for the text to display on the pages they create. To override the author's settings, select "Use user-defined characters, ignoring those on the web page ".

Change default colors in Mozilla Firefox.

Open the Tools menu and choose Options (on Mac OS open the Firefox menu and choose Preferences);
Open the Content category;
Choose Colors;
Click on the colored blocks next to "Text", "Background", "Unvisited links" and "Visited links". Choose the desired color for each element. It is also possible to specify whether links should be underlined or not.

You can also choose to ignore the specific color and background settings chosen by the authors of the Web pages by checking the "Allow pages to choose their own colors instead of those set" checkbox.
